Atelier Wen has introduced its latest watch series, Ancestra, featuring the inaugural JIĀO (蛟) edition. This new release marks the brand's first new series since the launch of the Perception collection in 2022 and continues their mission of reinterpreting Chinese heritage. The Ancestra JIĀO takes inspiration from ancient jade carving forms and is powered by a customized high-performance movement from the French manufacture Pequignet. The brand's evolution is highlighted by comparing the new release to its previous milestones, including the discontinued Porcelain Odyssey and the integrated steel Perception series. The Ancestra JIĀO distinguishes itself with a hand-hammered dial finished with fumé grand feu enamel. This follows the high artisanship established by the Perception, which featured handmade guilloché dials by Master Cheng Yucai.
