French watchmaking brand Awake has reported an enthusiastic reception for its recently launched Fragments collection. This series marks the first time the brand has incorporated mother-of-pearl into its Son Mai lacquer dials, a technique inspired by the ancient Japanese art of Raden. The collection is comprised of three distinct colorways: Fragments Pink, Blue, and Green, each highlighting a kinetic, mosaic-like aesthetic on the dial. Each of the three handcrafted variants in the Fragments collection is released as a limited edition of 100 pieces. The brand notes that while interest has been high across social media and the global watch press, only a small number of pieces remain available for delivery before Christmas. This release continues Awake's mission to bring high-end métier d'art techniques into more accessible price segments. In addition to the collection update, Awake has announced the launch of a new WhatsApp community for brand enthusiasts.
