Jaipur Watch Company Reissues the Original Imperial 1 Coin Watch
Jaipur Watch Company has announced the return of the model that launched the brand in 2013, the Imperial 1. This 2013 Re-issue maintains the original design and DNA of the first release, which established the brand's identity through the use of historic Indian coins. The new edition centers on a dial featuring a half-silver One Rupee coin dating from 1939 to 1942.
The reappearance of the Imperial 1 modernizes the original concept by powering the watch with an automatic movement. The timepiece is housed in a 37mm case and is protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal. It also features a transparent sapphire caseback, allowing a view of the movement, and is finished with a butterfly clasp.
Distinctive aesthetic details include a sapphire stone set into the crown, complementing the coin-centered dial. This release follows a lineage of the collection that has evolved through five versions, including the Imperial V. Founder Gaurav Mehta presents this reissue specifically for collectors as a tribute to the brand's origins in specialized coin watches.
