REC Watches P/1001 Series Features Material from the First Production GT40

REC Watches has announced the upcoming delivery of the P/1001 series, a collection crafted using DNA material from the first-ever production Ford GT40, chassis P/1001. The series includes three distinct models, each representing a different era and livery in the historic vehicle's life. The brand is currently offering a 20% pre-order discount which will expire as the company moves into the final delivery phase scheduled for April. The collection is led by the P/1001 FAV Shelby, featuring a blue dial and white subdials that mirror the livery used during the car's 1965 New York Auto Show debut. This edition is limited to 359 pieces. The P/1001 Essex Wire edition features a white dial with black subdials and red details, referencing the car's appearance at Le Mans with Jacky Ickx and Jochen Neerpasch. This specific model is limited to 298 pieces. Rounding out the series is the P/1001 Sid Taylor, which is limited to 293 pieces. This version utilizes a green dial with black subdials and gold details to honor the car's time racing under Sid Taylor Racing with driver Denny Hulme. REC Watches stated that these timepieces provide a final opportunity for collectors to own a physical piece of this specific GT40's history before the pre-order window closes and shipping begins next month.
