Venezianico Launches Nereide Verdigris with Artisanal Oxidized Dial
Venezianico has officially released the Nereide Verdigris, a new addition to their flagship diver collection. The standout feature is a brass dial created through an artisanal process of oxidation and flame treatment, resulting in a unique verdigris patina. This finish produces irregular shades of green, turquoise, and blue, creating a tridimensional surface that reacts dynamically to light.
The design concept is inspired by the natural transformation of copper and brass surfaces in Venetian architecture when exposed to the humidity and air of the lagoon. The brand developed the aesthetic through extensive material samples and chromatic trials to replicate these natural patinas. The watch is priced at $1,395, with the first production batch limited to 500 pieces.
Maintaining its functional dive watch heritage, the Nereide Verdigris is water-resistant to 200 meters and includes a rotating bezel for monitoring dive times. The caseback is secured by six screws and features an engraving of the Nereide submarine. This model continues the collection's direct reference to underwater exploration while incorporating artistic elements from the brand's home city of Venice.
