Which microbrands are doing something different?

No offense to those doing the same GMT, Diver, Cartier knockoff, but who is pushing the boundaries?

Baltic has a cool approach with their MR01, especially since they used an affordable micro-rotor movement to keep the profile super slim. It’s a nice change of pace from the standard NH35 bulk you see everywhere else.

Honestly, check out Brew if you want something that doesn't look like anything else on the market. Their designs are super unique and Jonathan really nails that 70s industrial aesthetic without it feeling like a generic homage.

Farer definitely deserves a look if you want to see someone playing with unique colors and case shapes that dont just copy the big luxury houses.

I like traska's harden case and bracelet. Never seen a really scratchproof stainless case and bracele tho. For me that's one great impact to watch industries specially micro brands

Nodus is doing some genuinely cool engineering with their proprietary clasps and hardened coatings. If you want unique design language that isn't just another vintage reissue, take a look at what Ming or even Boldr are doing with materials.
